Also glad to know Newell stocks those parts.

2018 4/13/2006 4:11:23 PM 4/13/2006 TechTalk Staff TechTalk@newellcoach.com Inverter/Charger The Newells equiped new with 5000 watt inverters were built with 24 volt alternators (all other Newells have 12 volt alternators), and battery equalizers to provide the 12 volt power required by the house system. Unless you are prepared to change the alternator to a 12 volt model, we recommend that any inverter or charger you purchase be 24 volt input. We also suggest that you consult with the technical staff at Newell or at one of the inverter/charger manufacturers in order to find components that are compatible with each other and with your coach with excessive costs. All of the inverter/chargers we are using today operate on 12 volts supplied by 400 amp alternators, with the latest system designed to deliver up to 8400 watts continuous power. While these systems theoretically could be retrofitted to older models, the engineering involved would be substantial, there could be some unanticipated surprises, and certainly the expense would be considerable.

2022 4/16/2006 2:15:15 PM 4/16/2006 Dennis dmaas@jmtrans.net Are we ready for newell Am impressed with specs and floor plans. 30 years trucking and ready to retire. Currently have a 05 HR Endeavor 12k miles . 400 Cummins 2 slide. Very impressed with the new model with murphy bed etc... Can someone push me over the edge to upgrade to Newell?? 262 470 0093. Am I overly impressed or is Newell the answer? I need driver leg room like the Endeavor or Diplomat or Executive.. Or is driver comp like a Prevost with no consideration for driver being able to stretch out legs?

Q
2058 5/4/2006 9:07:54 AM 5/7/2006 Michael Day rvinternet@hughes.net Owner's Manual The reference posted by the Newell staff above indicates that owners manuals did not exist until the late 1980's or early 1990's. I do have an owners manual for my 1992 so they did exist by '92. An owners manual existed for the 1991 Newell I looked at purchasing.

In '92 the owners manual consisted of a small three ring binder with about 46 pages of general information on the coach plus a listing of Newell owners at the time. My coach also came with two large three ring Newell binders with the booklets for many of the components such as the TV's, VCR, cooktop, water heater, rear end, etc.

2068 5/14/2006 7:07:40 AM 5/14/2006 Steve Rice betshalom@earthlink.net Leveling The left rear of my 40' 2002 coach is lower than the right side. I was told by a tech that to adjust the unit, I need to raise the coach to max height, turn off the ignition
key, crawl under the left drive wheel, and loosen the 1/4" hex nut, slide up the rod 1" and retighten. The problem is there is no way to reach the nut since it is located inboard of the inside tire. Any suggestions. One was to place the coach on jacks, and remove the two left wheels. I hope there is a better way to adjust the height.

Q
2080 5/29/2006 7:49:16 AM 5/29/2006 wave w5sk@earthlink.net Newell The first step is to understand that a Newell or any high end RV will depreciate 10-20k or more per year and it will be higher the first few years -as much as 100k/yr at first. So decide if your fun is worth that . Read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" - I tend to get used high end - I admire but do not have a Newell.

2050 4/30/2006 7:41:29 AM 5/3/2006 Frank frank@aragonarproperties.com front end steering shimmy My 1994 coach with the proper H load range tires and 120 PSI inflation as developed a shimmy. The shimmey is felt by all passengers, and the steering wheel moves 5 to 10 degrees side to side. It usually happened within the first few miles at speeds between 55 and 65 MPH. It smooth out on its own after a mile or so or getting out of that speed range. I thought it was from flat spots in the tires from being parked for long periods of time. But recently it has been occurring even after several hundred miles. Tires and balancing are less than 6 years old. Any ideas on what to look for?

Q
2069 5/14/2006 7:21:16 AM 5/14/2006 TechTalk Staff TechTalk@newellcoach.com Leveling NEVER crawl under a coach without properly supporting the chassis with heavy duty (10,000 lb. front, 20,000 lb. rear) jack stands first. The coach can drop without warning, particularly when the body is raised using the leveling system. We'll develop a more complete answer to your question regarding adjusting the ride height valves, but until then, remember that proper use of jack stands is not negotiable.

2081 5/30/2006 7:36:40 AM 5/31/2006 Michael Day mday@hughes.net Newell Congratulations Dan. I know you are enjoying your Newell since you have had it for over 9 months now. Hopefully you are visiting LuxuryCoachLifestyles.com also.

Patrick, the market for used Newells exists because they are such well made coaches. When properly maintained, they will last a lifetime. Dan's coach is 27 years old and I am confident it will give him many years of excellent service. My Newell coach is 14 years old and I can attest that you will find Newell's support for older coaches is better than virtually any other manufacturer. One of the reasons for that is the longevity of the workforce. When you call with a question, the parts and tech support staff at Newell have first hand knowledge of the older coaches as well as the newer ones. Try that with most other brands and you will be VERY disappointed. Additionally, the quality of build of the Newell sets them apart from other manufacturers.
