Local Water Mineral Content Would A Softener Help?

Jonesy Member Join Date: Oct 2012 Posts: 29	Local Water Mineral Content Would A Softener Help? I have spent some time in areas where the local water has a LOT of minerals that has caused some problems with the water heater in particular. This is even with treated community water. Would a softener do something to alleviate mineral problems? I don't need a lot of detail now just the basics. Jonesy
