Default Finding Those Great Farmers Markets While Traveling on the Road

My title pretty much sums it up. The wife was asking me to find out if any Newell coach owners like to prepare and eat wholesome gourmet meals while on the road like they would if living in a nice home? We surely do; more than not. We both love to cook and eat awesome quality cooked home meals even while on the road.

And because we enjoy this sort of thing, it makes a lot of sense to us to visit Farmers Markets around the country while staying in our temporary homes. It is not always that easy to find great farmers markets and we thought we would share a couple of our favorites with everyone in exchange for yours.

Thanks to all who participate and share.

First One, that we love while staying down in Southern California near Los Angeles is Yamashiro Farmers' Market. Not only do they offer great fresh produce, you can hangout and sip wine while enjoying some great acoustic jazz. We stay at a couple different RV resorts and just drive the toad to the market. www.lacityfarm.org/yamashiro.cfm

Number Two, is up north in California in the San Francisco bay area called Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market. Like Yamashiros they have abundent selection of produce, along with a great selection of local cheeses, meats and varietly of local area crafted foods. Same sort of thing, stay out and about at a northern area RV resort of your choice, drive in do a nice days shopping while maybe checking out your favorite sights. There website is www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com

Now these are not the only ones and I realize they are not all that easy to get to and I don't recommend trying to park your large Newell, these are just favorites of ours while visiting the larger metro areas in the winter month away from ND.

We will share some others as we think of them in other parts of the country where we have visited.

A couple of the larger ones we have visited would be one in Portland, Oregon - Kansas City, Missouri and another in Boulder, Colorado. We have visited several small ones in smaller towns all over the country and they have some of the most unique items. Some that stick out in memory would be Watertown, Wisconsin - Canon City, Colorado - Nampa, Idaho and Hot Springs, Arkansas. If you are ever in any of these cities or towns and have the chance to go, definitely check them out. Or if you happen to be in an area with a farmers market stop and pick up a few things. You will find some of the tastiest produce you've ever had, some amazing cheeses, spices, and honey, you name it!

Fruit and vegetables from a roadside stand or farmers market always taste better.

Farmers Markets are great. I have never traveled to any out of town but it sounds like a good idea!
