Madson95,
I just had a Smartire system installed on my coach (front tires only) and the tires on the front are 315/80R22.5 I run 130 psi as per Newell's recommendation and the temps get up to about 155 degrees with ambient temps of 90 degrees! Keep in mind that these temps are while driving down the highway, not while stopped. I don't know if stopping would cool them off enough to matter. Are you checking your temps after stopping with a laser thermometer? Or are you using a system like the Smartire?
Hope this helps you.

I have seen my front tire on the sunny side of the coach reach into that range when traveling at 65+ mph in 100+ temperatures but the others haven't gotten that warm. It isn't unusual for a tire to run 60 degrees hotter than the ambient temperature when running hard. Tire temperatures above 200 degrees can result in tire degradation.
That said, please check your VIN plate for the Newell recommended tire inflation. I know that the '85 coaches were somewhat lighter than the '88's but 95 psi cold is lower than any of the pressures Newell recommended in 1988. I would think that your cold pressures would be in the range of 110 psi. Wally's 1988 40' tag axle rated tire pressures are the same as my 1992: 120 psi front, 110 psi drive, 100 psi tag.
