Default Favorate Flooring?

Recently purchased a used 1988 Newell and got rid of the bus conversion. Looking for ideas on the latest and greatest trend on flooring for luxury motorcoaches? What have you seen or have you tried that really improved your coach? Such as flooring?

Pete

Pete, congratulations on your purchase. Most of the newer Newells use marble or granite in the galley and bath areas. Granite is the heavier and more durable of the two. Carpet is still the most common floor covering for the salon and bedroon.

That said, a number of folks have used wood, wood laminate, or ceramic tile for large portions of their coach. I replaced the carpet in my '92 from the dash back to the bed with wood laminate. Coach 283 has travertine from the back of the front captain's chairs through the bath. The floating laminate floors are available in patterns that look like wood, or tile, or marble, etc. Newell recently sold coach 660 which had wood floors throughout.

Many choices out there. The laminates are lighter and easier to install than the tile, marble or granite. Particularly cutting around curved surfaces. That said, it is hard to beat the rich look and feel of heated marble or granite flooring.

Welcome Yellowstang to the Forum.

I can't add to Michaels comments.

I grew up in Seneca, SC, and went to school just down the road in Clemson. Where are you ?

my coach had tile and carpet. i am in the process of putting a design of absolute black, grey/white speckled and blue pearl all granite in.

i will do from directly behind the drivers and passenger seats to the bedroom.

i considered doing heated flooring, but decided not to.

welcome to our merry group of newell roving rangers.
