Default insurance coverage while full timing

What insurance company do you use? I just got off the phone with my auto insurance company who also offers rv insurance and the rate for the coach came in three times what I was paying for the car. Even by reducing the coverage to actual cash value, ( replacement value coverage) the premium was still 50% more that I was paying on the auto side of things. I have never made a claim, been in an accident of received a traffic ticket since being insured with them. I am sixty-one years old.

Does anyone know where I can get affordable coverage? I am picking up the Newell Motor Coach next week

Thanks for any suggestions

I currently use Geico, but have used Progressive and State Farm bundleing 2 cars and the coach. All were cheap the first year or two and then seem to go up even without claims. We just switch when that happens and currently pay about $2400 for 2 MINI's (2010 & 2011) and our coach. The cars and cost are at replacement cost

Call Thum Insurance, they are usually recommended by Newell and are familiar with Newells. http://thuminsurance.com/rv-container/newell
I have them on my '93 although I'm not fulltiming yet, can't sell the darn house! I've only had 1 claim for a windshield. No problems with the claim. My installer handled the claim with the insurance.

I would have to agree with the Oliviers, Thum is a good choice, especially on '90 and up Newell's. When we aquire our fourth Newell, we will still do some double checking. In fact the wife just stated she's on it.

Called Thum and the process was flawless and the price was good. Thank you for the recommendation.

Archie how did Thum compare to others? I've had Geico for about 6 or 7 year now and price has been good, service can be better depending on where you live and if you ever have a claim. I had an incident with my 28' enclosed that had jack-knifed on ice and Geico screwed me o the trailer. Basically I have been paying for coverage that is not. So, sometimes big is not so good. I've been looking around and I'll probably have to pay a higher premium for sure to get better coverage.

We have Geico for the coach and car insurance. It's around $150.00 a month. We also have the Good Sam Roadside Assistance which is $113.00 a year. Comes out to about $10.00 a month. Well worth it!
