Question Desk area in coach? Laptop setup?

I really like the layout of this 2006 Newell coach I saw in the gallery. Got me thinking, where does everyone setup their laptop? Do you have a desk like this? Do you sit in your recliner? Or maybe at the dining area? I think for me it would be comfortable at a desk like this coach. Any thoughts?

Tom, I have attached a photo of how I setup my computer. My computer is a 27" all-in-one Apple which I like for working with photos and video. You will note that I use my recliner and am able to keep an eye on the TV. Hope this helps.

Those are both very nice set-ups. Nice computer Chester and your keeping things comfy too.

Chester I never thought about setting up a desktop all in one. How do you store it when traveling?

At first, I removed the slide tray just above the drawer and used a clamp. Recently, I just remove the few cables and lay it on the chair while traveling. Like a laptop, it only takes a few seconds to reconnect, but I have all of the advantages of the 27" screen and a desktop. As the picture shows, I use a small Apple keyboard on my lap. The computer is a little expensive, but it is exactly what I needed for both in the coach and at home.

We travel with 3 computers, a printer, Cradlepoint WiFi as WAN gigabit router and two Network Attached Storage units. I have the printer, 2-20 inch monitors (will likely swap them for an extra 27" we have at home on the next trip), the router, switch and the NAS units on the built in desk. I use the waffle drawer liner under all the equipment and it stays in place while traveling. My desktop CPU is under the desk. I built a stand to hold my wife's 27" all in one Lenova computer which incorporates a 27" monitor that sits in front of the passenger seat. Since the Lenova monitor folds down with the monitor facing up an is only about 4" high, we just fold it down when traveling and keep it connected. We keep the laptop on the center console to use for VMS-PC and PC based navigation software. All of the machines are hard wired together with gigabit ethernet. Not elaborate but functional.

Michael thats a lot to haul around! I would call me sitting at the dinette table with my laptop in front me. Not elaborate but functional.

Wally the problem I have always had with sitting at the dinette is a good backache from sitting in a booth. Next time I head out on a long trip in a Newell I best have a good chair or the computer business will be limited.

Tom & Donna a dedicated workspace is important and my coach lacks a comfortable work area that has enough surface area for a laptop or computer (other than the dinning booth) The photo of the Newell that has a desk is a nice setup, Chester looks like you have a setup that will work for you. Randy & Leeann wow the photo you posted that is a nice office setup in a motorhome alright, Michael & Georgia looks like you are set up pretty well there.

I have two couches across from each other and I would like to pull one out and put something like this setup.

Michael and Georgia I like that desk. Did you install this desk yourself or did it come in your year coach?

This is a great setup for those who have two couches and want to take one out. You could set something like this up along one side. Click image for larger version
