Default Sling box

We have been looking for a Coach and have realized that direc tv does not have in motion hd... So here is my question. Is there a stationary HDTV ? Also we have a sling box where we watch whatever is on our directv at home and can control it remotely.. Why not hook up an Apple TV in the coach and sling our direc tv to it..anyone see a Problem?

Pardon my lack of knowledge, but what is a sling box?

Conceptually I don't see an issue. If you're planning on using it driving down the road you could have hiccups if you lose your Internet connection.

A sling box is a device that you hook up between your directv box and the tv.. It allows whatever signal is out putted from the directv box to the tv to be "slung" via an Internet connection to any device such as an ipad or an iPhone. The appletv will then take whatever your phone shows and mirror it on the tv. Instant in motion sattelite..lol a sling box is about 2-500 depending on which one..you get..

the only issue is no Internet no slingbox.. The cool thing is you can actually control the directv receiver from your phone too..

Sling Box is cool only complaint by users are because of the amount of data sling box generates per second with user being timed out by their internet providers.

How much data does the Slingbox use? ... Slingbox generates 6 megabits of data per second, or 2.6 gigabytes per hour.

As to HDTV, winegard sells an antenna that give high def. Seems to me that the problem with a Sling Box is that it would use up a substantial amount of internet data with a high cost.

I personally feel that DirecTV is missing the boat by not providing in-motion HD. If you have 51.75" of vertical height available, there is a marine dish that will receive DirecTV in-motion. Sea Tel Model DTV04 HD Marine DIRECTV Antenna

[h=2]SEA TEL MODEL DTV04 HD ANTENNA[/h]
The Sea Tel Model DTV04 Marine DirecTV HD Antenna is the only marine stabilized antenna system that can deliver 3 Ku-Band satellites (101W, 110 W, and 119W) and two Ka-Band satellites (99W and 103W) simultaneously with one antenna system.The DTV04 is the first 3-Axis marine stabilized antenna system that is compatible with DIRECTV's Ka-Band satellites. The Model DTV04 HD is also the only marine stabilized antenna system that can deliver 3 Ku-Band satellites (101W, 110 W, and 119W) and two Ka-Band satellites (99W and 103W) simultaneously with one antenna system. There is no need to have a second antenna system for Ka-Band reception.The Model DTV04 HD features high performance stabilization and satellite tracking using a 3-axis closed loop stabilization system, providing quality performance in the roughest seas. The Model DTV04 HD has a compact, attractive all-white radome, DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) signal identification, and Sea Tel's proprietary antenna control with fast-track signal lock software.Sea Tel's patented three-axis satellite tracking system provides more reliable TV reception, even in rough waters. With signal loss due to antenna movement reduced to nearly zero, the performance of the sea Tel three-axis system is comparable to a fixed antenna on shore.
