Default Microphor Toilets

Anyone had problems with their Microphor toilet continuing to run water. I took mine apart based on the instructions in the manual and found a tiny bit of debris in one of the holes. It seems to be working now but I am skeptical if it will continue to work properly or if I should go ahead and spring for a new water valve assembly. This appears to be the original unit.

Fulltiming:

When I first took delivery of my 1999 Newell the water level in both toilets was too low. I called the service department and they explained how to adjust the water level. When I turned the adjustment knob, I must have turned it too far and the water ran continuously. I turned it back the other way (to close it) and the flow of water stopped and the toilet flushed properly.

I don't know if yours just got out of adjustment, but maybe you could try what I did. Newell Service department can describe what the adjustment knob looks like (it has been 6 months since I fooled with mine & I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning). So give them a call. Good Luck!

Thanks Tuga. I have played with the water level adjustment (the small black knob to the right of center inside the "tank" on mine) and found that it was not cause of my problem although I can see how it could get set so high that it might let the water run all the time. I have mine turned down quite a bit to about 2-3 seconds.

Have you replaced the flapper assembly? I need to replace mine since it is slowly leaking the water out of the bowl and wondered how much 'stuff' has to be disassembled to replace the flapper.

Michael:

Before you replace the flapper; try smearing a little Vasoline on the black rubber seal. I tried that and it has been working great for 6 months. The water stays in the bowl and doesn't leak out!

Good Luck!

Looks like I will be ordering a new flapper. I tried the vaseline treatment and it may have helped a little but all of the water still leaks out of the bowl within 40-45 minutes.
