No problem here passing or being passed. I just remain relaxed and hammer down when passing a semi.

I just make sure that there is enough room to continue past...Not just sitting along the side. Build up head speed and move along....

Remember blind spots are everywhere. Hurry up and get ahead of the truck...don't dilly dally around. The trucker may not know you're even there, and God forbid the driver makes a quick lane change or swerves to avoid road debris, etc. Here is a diagram showing the most dangerous areas to be. Stay out of the no zone!

I drive slow enough that if there is any passing they are passing me. I generally drive just under 65mph. Being retired, we are seldom in a hurry and the fuel millage is much better at that speed.

Every semi around here goes at 70 or more. And 70 for me is out of the question specially with a toad behind me. Just keep both hands on the steering wheel and get ready to feel the wind.

I'm with you on this! It also gives you time to look at the scenery a little as you're traveling....and that's one of the main reasons we came to our lovely country in the first place.

64 is my speed now! In early 2000's is was as fast as IT can GO!

However passing will happen during steep grades. So as not to get caught behind a loaded truck.

You just gotta look down the road........or up!Click image for larger version

Thank you everyone for the replies. It's always good to get some feedback and opinions from you. I'm going to digest this all and see if I can't over come this fear of passing semi trucks.

Thank you!!
