Hi Dom & Fay

Not sure if you looking for new or used Jeep but I made a quick search online and this is what I found.

2012 Liberty

your only option with the Liberty regarding flat towing is a manual transmission. For an automatic, you can ONLY tow dolly if it is FWD (no flat towing).

You CAN flat tow a 2012 Grand Cherokee 4WD with a Quadra-Trac II transmission, That 'II' is a VERY important distinction.

After reading further into the online manual for the jeep liberty on page 423 it states A 2012 four wheel drive Jeep Liberty with an automatic transmission can be towed four down. You put the transfer case in neutral and the transmission in park.

Sorry for the error in my post above,

Joseph

I tow a 2005 LIberty 4x4 sport, as long as the transfer case has a Neutral position you are good to go. Some of the newer jeeps (Laredo Cherokee specifically) DO NOT have a neutral position.
