Default Leaky Windshield

I noticed a small leak in a spot above our windshield. After looking closer it appears there is the rubber trim around the glass on the outside. Does anybody know if I am on the right track here?
My biggest concern is removing the rubber and not getting it back in place properly. Any thoughts? Or do you think its easier to pay an expert ?

I take on most jobs, but I would take a windshield problem to the glass shop.

You might check to see if your clearance lights are leaking. They are common culprits for apparent windshield leaks.

Water leaks are a real pain in the butt. I would say yes you're probably right on track. The culprit sounds like it's a worn rubber seal around the windshield.
