GPS Systems
Have read the past GPS postings and am wondering with the advancement of technology if anyone has some recent advice on a portable GPS system which would include routes recommended for our 43 ft. Newell. Any help in shortening our search and potential pitfalls in acquiring a system that may not help with a big rig would be most appreciated.
Have a good day.
David

David, the Garmin Nuvi series can be set for Truck or Bus. I have a Nuvi 650 that works reasonably well. I primarily use it in the car however. In the Newell, where I have more room and like a larger screen, I use a laptop running Street Atlas with their USB gps unit. Street Atlas allows much more flexibility in choosing your route in advance but does not specifically route you around low clearances. For that, a laptop running Co-Pilot would be preferred.
There is no perfect system out there. They all have advantages and disadvantages.
