leaky valves on the tag brakes
the picture below shows the valve that is leaking on my tag brakes. there is one on each side. it is a bendix 229505.
so i will get a couple.
not quite sure what they do. they have two functions. one is to give 50% reduced braking power to the wheel. the other is to release the air pressure faster than normal to release the brakes.
anyone know for sure what newell uses them for?

Tom, I would guess it would be to reduce the braking pressure. The tag carries significantly less weight than the drive axle so it would be easy to lock the tag up if you got on the brakes hard.
