Basement Air Manual
Does any one have a operation or service manual or schematics for the SCS front air conditioner. My coach is a 1996 #410 with the single unit up front and the double unit for the galley and bedroom. I believe the model number is HVAC #1301.
Thanks for any help.

Good luck. The units are very similar to household units but a noraml ac guy runs away because they are in an rv. And an rv guy runs away because he doesn't know why he is looking at. The electrical schematic. Should be printed on the electrical cover where the wiring goes into the basement unit I should be on the inside of that cover. What is the unit doing or not doing.

Hello Richard,
Thanks for the reply, the unit is freezing up. I checked the air filter and the fan is running, so it must be low on freon (therfore a leak somewhere). I have a appointment on Tuesday with a Bus AC company. I just wanted to be prepared with as much info on the unit as I can find. I did open the cover for the circuit board, but I don't know how you would service it without having to remove the complete unit. I am going to leave this repair to someone who knows what they are doing and have the correct tools.

If it is freezing up have you checked to see if the coil is pluged up with dust. Most of them are hard to get at but they should be cleaned a couple of time a year. A plugged coil can cause the system to feeze up and you can check it out before you take to someone else.

Included with this post (I hope, using the new PDF attachment feature) are two PDFs of the SCS basement air manuals that came with my 2000 coach. One of the manuals is dated March 2006 so I may be applicable to your equipment.

Tim,
Excellent to post the manuals. Thanks, although mine is dometic, many of the same things apply.
Nando, I would guess low on gas or dirty evaporator (the one in the coach).
Let us know the outcome.

OK, back from the A/C repair facility and the front unit is working great. Needed coils cleaned, replaced a few wires feeding the circuit board, replaced the compressor and added a dryer, replaced flexible duct works. The unit is sealed with no leaks. Transport A/C in Fort Myers Florida did the work and would highly recommed them to anyone. Total cost = $1900.00. Not cheap, but now better than new. Next month taking the coach back and have them remove rear A/C, clean the coils and go over the rest of it to ready it for summer in Fl.
