Default Fresh Water Pump Issue

I am having problems with the fresh water pump. The fuse is o.k. I can get the pump to work if I connect a battery with jumpers directly to the pump. The pump will not run when you push the pump switch. Is it possible that if the switch is bad the water pump will not work? How is the best way to troubleshoot this problem. Thanks

I would go to the Switch and check it with a Volt Meter or Trouble Light. Then I would go to the Pump and do the same. Next I would cut the circuit in Half and then in half again.
Since you may not be familiar with this you could go to your local Auto Parts Store and get a small 12 Volts DC Light to use as a Trouble Light. Use Alligator Clamps on the wires to help make the connection.

I agree with Steve,

With troubleshooting you want to follow the power till it ends somewhere. Well I would start by ensuring that you have power too and through your switch, you can check for power with a multimeter or test light. If you have power too and through the switch check for power next at the pump, if power is there check your grounds at the pump. Follow the power and check your grounds .

Is the pressure switch shutting the pump off? Pump only runs until accumulator has been pressured up then shuts down until pressure drops.

If you refer to the Headhunter pump, then maybe your switch controls are fried since pump runs. Emergency shut off could indicate a bigger problem. If Headhunter they are in Ft Lauderdale, Florida
