Default 1995 Newell Coach Headlights Not Very Bright

We have a 1995 Newell Coach. Love it, but find the headlights do not give enough light to be as effective as they should be. Has anyone else noticed this problem on their coach? If so , what can we do to make them work more effective?

Our 95 is the same, we just don't drive at night. Just kidding, I have looked at it, just reach under front end of coach and dissconnect back of light assembly and replace bulb with a higher output bulb from your local automotive supplier. If that does not give you the results that you are looking for the light assembly more than likely will have to be changed out. That is more than likely what I am going to do. With age nothing shines like it used to..

You're not alone, that has been a topic of several threads on this forum. The best bang for your buck, and necessary for any other improvements is to buy a couple of relays. The relays should be mounted as close as practical to the headlights. You will want to come off your power panel up front with as heavy a gauge wire as are running to your headlight switch, and a short a run as possible to your new relays. Wire it up to use the current headlight wires to activate the relays. This will eliminate all the juice from running through your headlight switch and get you more voltage to your headlights.

Two things. First, make sure the lens is not scratched or cloudy. If so nothing will help until you correct that issue. Second, change the bulbs to something better. Like halogens. Not cheap, but if you do a lot of night driving they are worth the expense.

1. Jon is correct. It is a must to add relays to the system no matter what you do.
2. If you go back about 4 years, there was quite a bit of discussion on fixing the problem. As I recall the actual assy is the problem & better bulbs will help some, but the fix is to go to the Ford export glass lens assy. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for!
