Default Peninsula Window Weatherstripping replacement

I am going to attempt to post a number of pictures and instructions on how to do this yourself. Please be patient with me as I learn how to do this on this site.

Replacement of Weatherstripping in Peninsula Windows. Go to this website and click on the Peninsula set.

You will have to click on each individual photo to see the instructions.

PM me or comment if this doesn't work for you. Our friend Michael Day was kind enough to fix this and make it more friendly. It can be accessed in a better format here http://www.patrick-irish-wolfhound.c...rstripping.pdf

i got the two different felts, nylon tracks and new rubber pieces and started on my quest to do what richard did.

i have only done the passenger window so far. it took me about 3 days so i am clearly not as good at it as richard is.

the felt was the hardest part for me. i had to put it in the track an inch at a time and slide it plus i like not having to think.

like i said above, i got new nylon tracks for the top and bottom and they do go in differently in mine. the bottom goes in fins up toward the slider and the top goes in with the fins away from the slider.

since the only area the window slides around for the felt is the back vertical and top and bottom over to the window stop, that is all that needs to be re felted. i did each side in 3 pieces. one for the top, one for the vertical and one for the bottom up around the curve. richards instructions were spot on.

i also got the new rubber that goes on the inside under the slider and the outside wide rubber seal that goes on the bottom and vertical towards the back.

the window slides real nice now and is like new. i am going to put clear silicone on the outside of the frame to make sure no wind noise gets in.

now for the drivers window.. hopefully i don't mess this one up & can do it a little faster .

thanks,

tom
