Cool Newell Truckin Interstate I-10

We will be heading west along I-10 at the end of september. First stop is in Livingston, TX. If there are any folks on this forum who drive I-10 it would be helpful if you can share places you've stopped along the way. We aren't against staying in Wal-Marts along the way either.

You didn't mention how far West you were going on I-10, but if you end up in Arizona, a couple of good side trips would be Tombstone (site of the OK Corral shootout)and Bisbee. Both have a lot of history and are short drives off I-10. There are other interesting historical sites in the area. Also, there are several really good RV parks in the area. Good luck

Big Rigs has dozens and dozens of listed parks off I-10 and is a fairly decent reference.. also try RV Park Reviews, both are online and easy to use

There are many good campgrounds in and around San Antonio, we like to stay on Canyon Lake just North of New Braunfuls, there a couple of nice campgrounds there, one on the Lake and one on the Guadalupe River, unfortunately cannot recall the names but they were both Coast to Coast and AOR.

Our next stop was usually in Fort Stockton, several campgrounds there but nothing fabulous, just a good overnighter, and yes, this town has a Wally as an alternative.

Our next stop is usually Van Horne and again several campgrounds with a nice all pullthrough one on the left side of the main drag through town, could be "Eagle's Nest" but not sure. It's a small town so it's hard to miss.

El Paso has several Wally's that we have used.

There's a Casino in Mission St Xavier where we have overnighted, just South of Tucson on I 19.

Another casino just South of Phoenix

Another real nice casino a mile or so North of Erenberg, just before you cross the Colorado, there you have the option of blacktopping or using their campground, it's right on the river. (As you can see we like Casinos even better than Wallys, full security and shutles to the main resort)

Indio CA has an excellent campground, name escapes me but it's on the right of the main drag, is all walled in and looks real swank.

Hope this rather sparse info may help, just wished we had kept a log of all these places, have a great trip.
