Default Can the alluminum be polished?

I am looking at a used Newell, The exterior looks good other then the whitish film streaks over the non painted areas. The seller claims that is runs off the roof when it rains can some one elaborate on this?

Thank You

I have polished my aluminum sides with regular auto paint compound by 3M and had great success. I know my coach has a clear coat finish over the non color areas which I think is standard on most all classic designs (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Best of luck,
Mike

There are a several things you can do to minimize the stains on the side of the coach from roof runoff.

First, make sure you keep the roof clean, otherwise even the moisture from a dew will cause the junk on the roof to run down the sides.

Secondly, check to see if the paint on the roof is badly oxidized. This will result in a chalky film that will wash over the side.

Thirdly, keep the roof of the coach waxed. This will protect the roof and minimize the need to fight with cleaning runoff from the sides.
