David Zonker has suggested a mini-rally in late August, or EARLY September 2010 at a place called Tiger Run R.V. Resort near Breckenridge, CO. Any interest in the location, and/or time frame? Here is the link to their website:

Tigerrun looks like a great facility (biking, hiking, river running through facility, nice meeting facilities, good views). Time wise, September works best for us. The later the better (without getting into snow). It wold be best if we could catch some fall color on the trip up and back from California.

Hey Everyone:
Ckd with Tiger Run for 2010. They suggested September because off season and not so busy. Rate $44 per night otherwise in Aug and July it is $67 per night. So, if we thought about early Sep 2010 maybe we can begin to commit and get it on our calendars. The opportunity for biking, hiking, running, shopping, boating, ATVing, is endless. The Colorado Trail, 470 miles long from Denver to Durango runs right through Tiger Run. Excellent hiking, Richard are you paying attention? lol. Anyways, downside is that they rent the pavillion each day for rallies at $100 per day, ouch. So, we would just have to congregate at Michael's coach, Michael are you paying attention? lol. Maybe we could just hang at Tom's coach? Anyways, we will figure it out. The shuttle bus run by the county stops right out front and goes to Frisco and Breckenridge no charge. Well, let's all chime in and I will be glad to try and secure some spots that each of us can reserve, as we did with La Hacienda, in Austin recently.

Tim......According to David, we don't want to get too far into September as this is at 9300' elevation, and once you get to the middle of September the likelihood of snow increases dramatically. Maybe we can hook up and drive together....where in California do you reside?
David, I'm down. What date....September 7th is the day after Labor Day.....???

Clarke, Laura and I live up near Sacramento. I have the info entered in my profile but it does not display when you click on my user name. Maybe it has something to do with being a junior member.

Actually, the information is displayed, I just didn't look...it's located to the right of your username where it says "Join Date", etc......Elk Grove, CA. How would you get to I-70...take I-80 east and drop down eventually to 70?

Phyllis and I stayed at tiger run on 2 different occaisions and it is a great and beautiful place. Some one should just make a decision because it will not work for everybody at the same time. September is questionable for me because it is hurricane season and I would hope to be working, but many others have time comflicts as well.
I say, someone take charge, make a date and place and stick with it.

Rhonda and I are not empty nesters yet. We still have one in public school, so I am going to bow out on commenting on dates for this one. You guys do what works best for you, and if we can work it in, then we will.
Of course, Rhonda's ankle will be mended by then, and she can drive the coach, so maybe she comes the next time by herself. You would definitely find out that she is the better half.

I would like to see as many as possible be able to attend. I'm not married to after Labor Day.....I've been thinking like an empty nester. Richard, what works for you and the others here who still have kids in school? Middle of August, last week in August? We're totally flexible.

prestadude,
The last time I was in Elk Grove was almost 40 years ago, I am sure that it has changed from then. Then like other places Elk Grove was wide open country sides with Cattle and the like. We used to go there to test our Cars for Drag Racing, glad I survived.
Tricia and I are looking forward to a Rally with Classics. We would have liked to attend the last one but the Coach wasn't ready yet. I am thinking of Colorado in the next couple of months as long as work doesn't get in the way.

After the great time in Austin we were ready to go again the next week. However we have to make do with short visites to Houston every week. At least we get to stay in our coach a night or two per week. Again, thanks to everyone for the welcome and hospitality in Austin. We stayed at Tiger Run two years ago on the way to Yellow Stone Park. This was one of the nicest RV resorts we stayed at that summer. The whole area is great with or without the kids. Anthony and I loved the mountain biking and the alpine slide in Brakenridge. We would love a ralley there. The best time would be before school starts. Anthony would not let us go wiyhout him.

Pete it's good hear from you, I diddo your thoughts on Tiger Run it' is one the best parks we have stayed in as well, and there are a ton of things to do in the area.
Let's hope the scheduling of the event wherever it is works and maybe we can be next door neighbors again.
