Default Fluids analysis

hi,

i took an oil sample from the series 60, sample from the allison 4060 tranny and the generator.

had them analyzed at the local CAT Fluids lab. the detroit and tranny were perfect. no issues. the genny had slightly elevated sodium levels (102) but zero for potassium and glycol. you can get elevated sodium levels from antifreeze in the oil, but also from using straight weight oil. so, i will check another time. i am sure it is ok as well. just using some 30w mixed with the 15w40 i was told can give you a reading of 100 for sodium.

so, i am relieved to find out the engine and tranny are fine. not that i thought they were not but i didnt know for sure.

later

tom
