Default Allison HT 740 shifting rough

Hi there,
Just recently my tranny started shifting a little rough, before it started out as just a little nudge but then now seems to be “nudging” through every gear... I did a fluid change and checked all the seals but still doesn’t seem to smooth it out at all.. I could really use the help in doing it myself so I don’t have to take it in somewhere to get it fixed and get charged an arm or a leg… Thx for any suggestion

Do you have the air shifter or the cable linkage? If you have the air shifter, you might check the air pressure to the shifter. I have not had to have any major work done on mine other than have the air shifter rebuilt. Newell did that for me and there is a gentleman in northeast Texas that is expert at rebuilding the air shifters.

Actually I have the cable linkage.... I spoke with a mechanic over the phone who is familiar with the Allison and has worked on quit a few, coming from him.... He had told me to "Just have a fresh set of proper springs installed and should be fine"... does this sound about right? Thx
