Is this a real deal? 1996 for sale $75,000
[h=2]1996' 41-ft Newell Coach- diesel - $75000[/h]

If this is real? I would be ready to jump on a plane while the weather is still good and see if I can't make a deal.

I sent them an email asking for phone number - scammers don't give out a phone number normally...
It says anchorage on the ad... maybe we should visit, it looks nice but I have the problem of getting a loan for it...

There are at least two members up in that area right now and I will put a call into one of them today and see what they too can find out on this one. The price in a good range and should have the 60 series engine.

However, it is probably listed as the wrong year as it is showing an 8v92 series engine with vertical taillights. So it is probably a 1990-1994 model year. If its a 1994 then the price may still be good if it's in great condition.

There are a lot of scammers on craigs so it could be a scam like Adrian said no phone number. I know some don't like to give out there phone number to just anyone. Myself included but when you are trying to sell an expensive item such as a Newell it's best if you include a contact number.
Ken if you can get someone up that way to go and take a look at it then of course that would cancel any doubts. However if the people don't reply with a phone number and ask you to wire money then you know it's a big time scam!
If they reply with a phone number than call them up and ask many questions.
Hopefully it is legit and you can make a deal! As for the engine and year being wrong that could be another hint that it's a scam or it's someone who hasn't got a clue what they are selling?

Check with Russo for one on the nicest 96 low miles coaches with everything working and has been well maintained. I have driven and been in his coach and it is sharp. He says he would sale and all someone need to do is make him an offer.

That's defiantly not a 96. As ken said, it's not a 60 series engine, and the taillights are wrong along with other small details.

I agree. Whoever wrote this is missing a few descriptive items. Can the engine be a Cummins Detroit Diesel? It is clearly a DD 8V92. And the tail lights indicate that it is NOT a 1996.
Something is wrong here, hopefully one of our members can clear up some of the confusion here by going to see this unit. That is what makes a site like this so helpful when looking at a coach.
My advice would be to be cautious here. Don't send in any deposits or advance payments and watch out for a salvage title.

I sent them an email and have not received anything back so it is probably a scam.
Plus those tail lights look strange. lol, like I would know...

Cool, that makes a couple of you trying to hunt down the source. What's funny is I count at least a dozen time looking at motorcycles especially dirt bikes and they will be advertised as a year or two newer than what they really are. I'm sure some are by accident while others are scamming. Craigs is free and it makes it easy for scammers. I have ran adds without phone numbers on there depending on what it is. If you ever give out your phone number or email and you list a high dollar item just be warned you will be added to many lists based out of Russia, Africa, China, India and Latin America. That is where most of my spam comes from, when I posted ads on Craigslist and they write me about it, I respond back to them and now they have my email. Guess what's next. SPAM! They love sites like this too, and if you advertise that information its on you too, since you own a Newell, they think you have deep pockets.

No contact number and no reply back to an email is a major red flag! Don't get me started on the wrong discription and year.
A real person selling a coach will MOST of the times have a contact number on the ad. Why? because it creates trust. Also they know that some potential customers will have some questions answered before they buy and they would want to help answer those questions if they really wanted to sell their coach.

Thanks for all your speedy response and input. I also sent an email to the ad listed but have yet to hear a response. I think you all are right it's one of those too good to be true deals. I'll keep looking.
Thanks again,
Derek

About the phone number, I agree that I would not advertise my phone number on CL or the web for that matter. I was trying to say that in the email I sent them I asked for a phone number. Scammers usually will not give a phone number if overseas. I did have a guy call me on a rent house we were looking at in CO, he said if I would just send him a deposit to his Nigerian Bank account, he would send us the keys... I later did some research and found the real owners were deceased and the home was in probate...

Ken asked us to investigate this while we are still visiting our daughter here in Anchorage and thus far we have not received a reply. Not sure what to make of it. We would be glad to go by and take additional pictures, inspect it and so on.... Just standing by.

No word yet on this Alaska Newell.
express1 what year is Russo's coach? Sounds like he wants to move up pretty bad. I see from another post you are shooting for $100k and is that set in stone?
