Default What does stacked inverters mean ?

Okay here it goes, I have talked to numerous people and 3 have mentioned they have stacked inverters. Now I didn't want them to know I had no idea what they are talking about so I just listened and said okay. Now I am wondering what is meant when its stated that the inverters are stacked? I know it is not one mounted on top of the other. I am assuming that they are both wired to the same curcit? or am I missing something ?

Please excuse my stupidity we are still learning and searching motor homes,

Hi Bluestraveler,

stacking in simple terms is an electronic control that will synchronize two inverters to work as one-to keep the 60 cycles of AC in synch between the two. Then they think as one and you double your output-but also double the need for more batteries. Personally I would use the inverter for convenience items like microwave, coffee maker, TV, Stereo, etc) , not for primary electricity and for your primary electricals, use the generator.
