lube oil
I never thought finding a particular lube oil could be so frustrating. I've tried to find Mobil Delvac 1240 40wt at auto parts stores, truck stops, etc. with no luck. I found Chevron's Delo 100 40wt fits the bill, but now I'm getting brick-walled on that one too! Can someone suggest an oil that is readily available and meets Detroit Diesel requirements? I know Newell has suggested a multi-vis oil but I want to stay with a 40wt, and ideally, a synthetic. Thanks

lube oils
Thanks 2dogs for the information. So you're using Delo 400 40wt in your coach? Is it synthetic?

Bry, heres the bad news. Iwas talking to my friend at clark oil and he said that they reformulated the delo 400 with synthetics. so as of september 17 2007 it can no longer be used in the 2 strokes!!! and delo 100 is in short supply what to do now? I ordered up 10 gallons should be here in a couple of days. chevron has a dealer locator on their web site. so good thing you posted or i might of fried a motor!

If you go to any bus repair garage that services 8v92 engines you should be able get oil. They all by it in bulk and I'm sure they are getting the right oil for our engines. I get my oil at a service garage in Bloomington, Mn and I called him and he informed me that they do not have any problem getting the proper oil.

i do the same as wally. i go to a bus service place and take containers and buy it in bulk. easy and no hassle. since they do my servicing i just get 5 extra gallons when i get the oil changed.
wally, thanks for coming by yesterday, i really enjoyed the visit. sorry the monitor wasnt what you needed.
