Allison Keypad selector
My keypad selector in my 95 is starting to weaken. Reverse is fine but when I try to depress the drive push button it does not want to engage the electronics to the trans. Sometimes I must try numerous times. Has anyone had a similiar problem, or has anyone taken this control box apart to try to repair? Checking with numerous places the cost for this unit ranges any where from $1800.00 to over $2600.00 The part #29507949 for a Allison 6 speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's a link to a rebuilt for $525, I found this with a Google search and you can probably find a lower price. http://www.valleytruckparts.com/Mont...rrentMonth.pdf

Mike, those are very expensive new. I'm pretty sure I have one of those in my stash of RV parts and would be willing to offer you it at one heck of a bargain. Just PM me if you're interested?.

Hi Mike, I would give ted a call he is very helpfull and may know if it is for sure the key pad, possibly one of Kens would work if that is your problem, they had 2 kinds, one was one piece with the ecu and the other the ecu was separate, they also had different programming for the ecu's for different applications, such as weight tire size and gear ratios, etc. You can get one reprogrammed to match your old one if it is in fact a one piece.

Hi Ken,
I have had the same problem when my coach set for awhile it dose not want to go into drive. Reverse, mode and everything else works fine. I would be interested in your key pad. Let me know what you have and how much. Thanks.

Ron, I have three different ones, but only one appears to have the number Mike mentioned above. He PM'd me yesterday and said he thought he wanted it and I told him I would verify the part number and I do have one for sure. If Mike does not buy it, then I will gladly offer you the same deal. Do you know your part number? I have a bunch of RV electronics, switches and circuit stuff and need to go through it all and list it out in case some of the folks around here need it.
