Questionable Water Quality
I've been studying a lot on this board and there seems quite a number of you will not drink from your water tank. Is this due to the questionable water quality from the source? Or does the holding tank / hose create a bad taste? Both? Would a good in-line filter solve this problem?

When we owned our classic we always used our holding tank water for drinking. If we found ourselves in a campsite with bad water, we just don't hook up to it. We always tried to have at least a half tank of good water on board when traveling.

A lot of people are sensitive to skunky water, but we have a standard filter at the tank.
I have never hesitated to drink from the holding tank.
Possibly for people who are not full time in their rigs, it would be more of any issue.

I don't drink from my fresh water tank because I do not drink tap water. I only drink bottled water.

We have a filter for the drinking water. Usually don't have a problem and we do keep at least a half tank of water but will not fill our tank if the local water has an off taste.
We were recently in Silver Springs, FL at a nice resort for a week and would have stayed longer but the water had a bad sulfur smell. After a week even our clothes smelled of sulfur.
Some people have added a reverse osmosis system for their drinking water. That is about as pure as you can get.

We use the water from the fresh tank for anything and everything, whenever city water is unavailable. Our coach does have a filtering system and all water, whether from tank or city inlet, goes through it. It's just a dirt and particulate filter, though.
But we have never been very picky about our water.

I am one of those who rarely drink the water from my tank. It is nothing to do with the quality of my tank, but everything to do with the quality of various sources of tap water. Even in my stick house, I rarely ever drank water straight from the tap. I bought a 2.5 gallon Brita water container with a spigot to fill my glass or tea pot for my coffee.

I installed a Reverse Osmosis Filtration System a few years back. It is dedicated to do Drinking Water and the Icemaker only, this was a great investment.
We are in a Camping Area that does not have sewer so now we are back to using Bottled Spring Water. Look at the bottle though because allot of the water is only filtered and we most likely all have those kinds of filters installed from Newell.

There is an interested initiative being presented a by an organization called Whole World Water. I personally support their idea as long as they are not trying to control the worlds water like some powers would like. I have purchased and still buy bottled water, and I use portable stainless steel containers like many fresh water holding tanks in our luxury coaches are made out of. I do believe in recycling and acknowledge we have a problem with plastic bottles ending up in our landfills. Between all the diapers, plastic bottles and throw a ways many of us have gotten used to, is not helping the future of our kids.
I'll get off that band wagon and just say I support what Steve and some others are stating; in that we should make it more of a priority to install if we don't currently have, a reverse osmosis water purification system or the like.
