Electronic Allison HT-740 Lockup
On my previous 77 coach the engagement of the transmission lockup following the shift into second gear was very noticeable. On the new to me 93 coach I'm not feeling that "additional" gear shift point. What do those of you that have this vintage coach notice regarding the lockup.

Jon, I didnt know you upgraded to a 93, are you keeping the 77? When I had the old engine in my 77 It was quite noticable I just thought it had more gears than my 87. I do wish the 87 had a couple more gears to keep the engine in the powerband for climbing hills etc. The 8.3 with the 6 speed seems to pull better than the 8v92 4speed. I think alot has to do with the transmission keeping the engine rpm where it is making power. Do you have any pics of your coaches ? I dont think I have seen any.

Keith: My 77 coach is listed in the Newell classifieds. The 93 was previously owned by Forest Olivier. I really don't know what got into me to buy a newer coach when I was quite happy with the 77, maybe I have a decade limit to ownership of anything. Oops, that doesn't apply to my wife as I've had her for two decades.
We picked up the 93 a few days ago in Texas. We are now in Vicksburg, Mississippi on our way back to Michigan where I really get into the new gal to understand how the systems work so that I have a starting place when the inevitable

That is a nice looking 77 Jon and I'm sure you won't have any trouble getting what you are asking for it. Have a safe trip and happy travels!
