Where the 6V92 is sitting is about 1200 miles. After thinking about it, I just remembered that the old GM's are left hand timed and that throws this idea out the window. It would cost too much to covert everything over. Hes probably better off staying with the old engine if it's a good core. If he had his own shop and could spend the time, then it could be worth changing over to a later engine. I could help him out, but with the tow and such probably won't pencil out for him.
Personally I love the looks of the old GMC buses, they kind of share some resemblence with the classic Newell's. An associate friend down the road from me has a GMC Buffalo bus, same configuration. Before my first Newell I almost made a deal on one just like Chris's, but it had a 671 in her.
The Newell's and Bluebirds are much more feasible specimens to upgrade the engines on. And of course this applies to most of the other bus conversions out there too.
