Default MOTOR UPGRADE?

MOTOR UPGRADE? My 82 38ft has a 6V92TA, how much of a problem to upgrade to a 60 series, is there clearance, etc?

Thanks

MOTOR UPGRADE - BIG problem. Mainly because the Series 60 is significantly longer than the 6V92 (or 8V92, for that matter), the Series 60 will not fit into the engine compartment of either of these 92 series engines without major modifications. Probably the main change required would be to remove the rear mounted radiator and install a side mounted unit. While not impossible, this would be an extensive job requiring a lot of careful advance engineering and planning; a long, expensive list of new parts; and a considerable but not accurately predictable amount of labor. The 6V92 is a good engine with plenty of power. If your powerplant is getting a little tired, we suggest you consider an overhaul or remanufactured 6V92 from a Detroit Diesel distributor.
