a few things for people to be aware of. the check valve on my 120v compressor was bad and my compressor made too much noise. i got my db meter out and it was 15 db louder than michales. so i got a new compressor from grainer, got a new pressure switch, new fittings, check valve and tubing.

the check valve was no good at all, and that would cause some leaking. they get moister and get corroded inside and allow the air pressure to leak out. something to keep in mind.

i also made a portable pressure gauge. i got a air pressure gauge, put a fitting and male quick connect fitting that i can plug into the port in the compressor compartment to see without going to the back of the coach or to the dash to see the pressure the compressor is cutting in and out with.

Hey Tom,

I just had my 120v air compressor check valve changed @ Newell because it was not allowing air to be pumped into the system. The unit would run, but no air would come out. It works fine now with the new valve. I didn't know that a check valve could get stuck in the closed position; I guess anything can happen.

Just for grins, what did a new 120v air compressor from Grainger's cost? The one I have is made by FAST.

the compressor is a GAST, and was 480 dollars. i tried to negotiate them down, but they told me they were making less than ten bucks on it....who knows....
