stackable units versus the combo unit(washer/dryer, one machine)?
Hello all, we are on the verge of ordering our new washer/dryer choice. Can anyone give opinions on the stackable units versus the combo unit(washer/dryer, one machine)? Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Lindsay

It all depends on which one will fit into your coach. I have had several combos and they are very limited in the amount they can wash and the time required to dry. The combos are almost useless and very expensive. If you have the room, go for the stackable.

If you have the room, definitely get the separate units. If all you have room for is an all-in-one unit, be sure it's a vented unit.

we have the combo, and it works ok, but the stacked separates would be better. Problem is we are already used to having the extra space over the combo to stack stuff.

Stackable front loaders would win hands down.

I have had many of the combo's, both vented and non-vented. We now have the stacked Bosch and there is no comparison. Don't waste your money on a combo.

We've had both the stacking (Kenmore) units and a Korean made combo unit (don't recall the brand but they are common for marine and RV or apt use and retail for $1000 give or take.
Stacking... like a household unit and they work fine, just a bit smaller for loads. Ours had a steel rack setup. Installation was in a Prowler fifth wheel back in the 80s.
We purchased the combo unit and like it just fine. Ours washes, then dries in the same load. It takes a while. It dries to "almost dry" and you have to pull the clothes out. They feel dry once they air out for a minute or two. Works with towels, sheets, levis, underwear. Small loads. We got ours online and saved $200 by asking for a scratch and dent unit. It arrived by freight, had only a superficial small dent at the back where you cannot see it. It has worked well for 6 years. Sure beats using a laundromat or coin-op. To be honest, we have washed a few loads skipping the dry cycle and air dried when we were in a hurry.
