Owners Manuals???

I recently purchased a 1982 Newell Coach but the last owner misplaced the owners manual. What I am wanting to find out is if the factory sells manuals for the older coaches?

Owners Manuals for Newell's did not exist until the late 80's or early 90's according to Newell (http://www.newellcoach.com:591/bboard/FMPro?-db=bboard.fp3&-format=msg.htm&-lay=form%20view&-sortfield=Date%20Created&-sortorder=descend&-sortfield=Time%20Created&-sortorder=descend&App=1&select=cn&select2=cn&select3=cn&Message=owners%20manual&-recid=33177&-find=). I have one for my 1992 so I know they supplied one at that time but in 1982, Newell did not produce owner's manuals.

Since Newell took TechTalk off of their website and began migrating it to threads on this site, the above link is no long valid.

Thanks for posting that copy of the Newell Owner's Manual. I read over it and learned a few things. One was that the battery merge switch allows the engine batteries to be charge by the converter/charger when it is charging the house batteries when connected to shore power.

It would be nice if John C could post a copy of the 1999 Newell Owner's Manual.

Hey Paul...I too recently purchased a 1982 Newell 36'. It came with two large three ring binders prepared by Newell, I assume, because the three ring binder covers have Newell on them. Bascially it contains numbered dividers with manuals for every system in the coach (A/C, refrigerator, basement freezer, bar, water heater, genset, etc.). In addition, the guy I bought it from gave me 73 pages of hand written notes he had taken over a two day period when taking possession from the original owner. I don't know what I would have done without each of these resources. Let me know what make and models you have each of systems and I'll see if I have documentation that will asist you. I can scan them, and convert them to .pdf documents and e-mail them to you.

When I return home from our current road trip at the end of the month I'll start scanning the documenation I have that was provided by Newell to the original owner of my coach. I am so happy I have access to this documentation as it has been invaluable.

I have a 1983 newell with the 903 cummins eng and when we purchased it we got hardly any documentation. I would love to have a copy of your 1982 information including any notes you have. we have only been out in ours once since driving it home from houston to indiana. Thanks for you consideration.

I'll work on it this weekend. Here's a copy of the handwritten notes taken by the second owner when he took possession. I think there are over 50 pages here in .pdf format. Let me know if it comes through.
