#589 New full timers
My wife and I just picked up a 2001 45' Newell out of Colorado two months ago and have been full time since. Left Denver and headed out to Avila Beach CA for a month. From there we went to Coberg OR for a couple days. Now we are at a very nice place in Anacortes WA for the next month.
It has been quite the new experiance and we have been learning much. We did not much about Newell's prior to purchase but are very happy with our decision. We are especially interested in the mini rallies we have ready about here.
Any owners in the area? We would love to meet to talk details. Looking foward to participating here more!
Jim & Sandy

Some local owners are: "Fritzthecat" in Winthrop, WA and "blakestar" in Lynden, WA (these are their usernames on this forum). Both are members of this board and have recently acquired their Newells. You will see their posts under the "Love my Newell" post in this same section.
Where are you headed after Anacortes, WA? We'll be in Spokane, WA in mid November. If you are still in the area we'd love to meet you. After Thanksgiving we'll be heading over to the Olympic Peninsula and down the coast through Washington, Oregon and Nortern California. We plan to take a couple of days to meet up with Fritzthecat and blakestar (if they are available) while up there.
Welcome to the forum, and thank you for the pictures of your beautiful coach! You are living the life that many here are aiming for in the near future!
We are still in dicussions about our next mini-rally. We ended up having two of them this year. There has been talk about meeting at Tiger Run RV Resort in Breckinridge, CO next summer, or early fall 2010, but I have a feeling there will be a demand for one sooner than that. If you have any suggestions for a location let us know!

Call Newell and register as a new owner, they'll send you a booklet with all of the current Newell owners. Makes it easy to locate people nearby by location (unless they're traveling of course).
Congrats on your new purchase, I'm sure you'll learn to love it and appreciate the great engineering and features.

Try sending blakestar a Personal Message. You can do this by clicking on his username, and then choosing the option to send a personal message. Hopefully he will respond with contact information!

Thanks for the Newell info. They have been just great about support. Did send blakestar a PM. They are only about an hour from us, so hope they call us.
Thanks,
Jim & Sandy

Welcome, Jim and Sandy. We live in Denver and are on the road as well. Last year we visited Anacortes with the Newell Rally. Stayed somewhere on the water in a pretty big park on a bike path. Loved it. In northern MI now watching leaves change by the hour.
Keep in touch, we will have many more rallies. Look forward to meeting you. Great looking coach.

Hi David and Denise:
Our production facility is in Colorado, little dinky town. Low cost, good workers though. We are up the hill from the Casino on the way to Oak Harbor. There is another park on Fidalgo Bay that we are goin to look into, although we are Pioneer Park for the next month. Only other Newell we have seen on the road was another '01 in Avila Beach.
Used to live in MI back in the late '80s but moved back to Mukilteo Wa in '91. We tried the Pheonix area for a year, way too hot! We then spent three years in Colorado only to return back to the NW.

Hello all:
We are still in Anacortes. Planning to head down to WA/OR coast in about a month. Have learned that we need to plan far in advance to schedule a stay down in the SW for the winter.
Take care,
Jim & Sand

Jim,
When you say the SW do you mean the Indio, CA area? We drove out there a few years ago in February and it was really nice. We stayed at ORA Country Club resort.

Hey Jim.....was in Oak Harbor and Coupeville visiting friends back in late November. Took the Clinton ferry over to Mukilteo, then drove down to Edmonds and took ferry over to Kingston and then follows 101 around the Peninsula down to Astoria and down the Oregon coast. Is it still C-O-L-D???

It started warming up about two weeks ago. Prior to that gave us some fits with our air system. We are just up the hill from Anacortes on the way to Oak Harbor. One of these days I want to get over to the base as I served there in the Marines many moons ago. My wife and I grew up in Mukilteo/Edmonds and have family there. Have a really good friend on Orcas who we visited last month.

Alien Patrol, congratulations with your coach!
It's quite funny that Newellcoach.com lists #589 as a black & white coach with an ivory interior! Are you sure about your coach number or did Newell make a typo?

ALIEN PATROL SAID: "It started warming up about two weeks ago. Prior to that gave us some fits with our air system."
Had problems with our ride height in the frigid temps we lived with for about 2 of the 3 weeks on our trip. The right rear would not come up to full ride height if it was under 40 degrees.
