Talking No Frozen Anything

We are here at the El Golfo Resort. We went into town yesterday, it is a small Fishing Village, Golfo De Santa Clara. Shrimp was $10.00/Kilo so we had a BBQ last night with a little "Shrimp on the Barbie". The Sea of Cortez is beautiful this time of year. The locals are wonderful and very freindly.
While we admire Clarke and Elain's Voyage, like many of you we live with snow and are happy to enjoy the Mexican Sun!!

Just got back from the Cabanas on the Beach, here is a picture from our Coach. The second picture is a couple of the local Shrimp Fisherman getting their Nets ready.
I'll try to get a picture of their Pongas tomorrow. Shrimp instead of Turkey!!

Hey Steve:

Looks like a great time. We'll have to check this out for the future. Maybe we can talk Clarke into some warmer weather adventures. How long did you say it takes to get there? How much are the fees? Have a great shrimp Thanksgiving. Denise is cooking a monster Turkey. 61 in Denver today 65 tomorrow. Life is good.

Thumbs up

Just a little note from Golfo de Santa Clara. The weather is as good or better than expected at the low 90's during the afternoon.
Doubloon and Bonnie are really enjoying their runs on the Beach, I usually take them on the Beach at 6:00 AM and whenever the Off-Roaders are not there.
We went into the Village last night and it was wild! The Shrimp Fisherman had a very good day and like their predecessors, they became Drunken Sailors. We went to the "Yellow Place" and had the new "World's Best Shrimp Tacos". They are $2.00 each and the Shrimp is fresh without being frozen. You can choose between Corn or Flower Tortillas and those are Fresh as well.
David, we are about 2 hours into Mexico (not counting the Border Inspections). We are at a time share that we have with Colorado River Adventures at the El Golfo Resort. I checked yesterday and only found one other RV Park here and it was $10.00/day for Dry Camping only right on the Beach but you have to be very careful not to go too far onto the sand. We have seen numerous folks stuck out there, one Mexican Lady had to sleep in her truck until someone could come and help her out.

It was a brisk 36 degrees last night, but NO freezing....spent part of the day at Cabella's yesterday....picked up some good bargains on cold weather gear (down vest, "early" season jacket, base layer top, fur lined slippers, etc.....not exactly stuff we will use at Golfo de Santa Clara....LOL!! Heading out toward Whidbey Island tomorrow morning to visit friends there before venturing on to the Olympic Peninsula and down the Washington coastline.

Cool

Clarke,
Today was a blamy 80 + something. We went into Puerto Penasco a couple of hours by car further into Mexico. We couldn't find a Capella's anywhere so we had to simply shop on the streets there. Tricia got some new Kokopelli Jewlery that would not go very well with snow gear.
We just got back from having more shrimp tacos at the fishing village. These guys work very hard for the little that they have and still they are very polite. We bought two families their meal tonight, I know that it made us feel as good as they were grateful.
The pictures are from Puerto Penasco. Jorge was Tricia's Cabana Boy for this trip.
