Default Fuel Filler

I have a 77 coach with a full width fuel tank. I prefer to refuel at truck stops though there is one problem with that. My fuel filler ports are quite close to the top of the compartment and it is difficult to get the fuel pump nozzle fully into the tank. As a result I have to stand there and drizzle the fuel into the tank and when putting 150 gallons in I'm getting carpal tunnel.

Have those of you with mature coaches had this problem and, if so, what have you done about it.

Thanks

Jon, are you stating that you have to hold the nozzle tip in the tank inlet and gently pull the trigger on and off?

I have a 232 gallon tank that goes completely across too. The inlet openings are 2 1/8", and angle out the front top corners. There is just enough room to put the nozzle in sideways with the handle facing the rear of the coach. It is tight, but I can put the auto and not have to hold it. hmmm...? I will have to upload a pic and compare maybe?

The one thing good about the scenario, is it is tough for a thief to make progress.

Certainly on the early 90's models, refueling is about as easy as it can get. There is plenty of room to fill automatically, even from the high flow truck pumps. Although sometimes it costs a few cents more at the truck pumps, the time saved is a blessing.

Some photos of your filler would be helpful but it sounds like Ken has the experience and a potential solution for you.
