Joplin Tornado
For those of you who don't know, Dave Prince lives in Joplin, MO. With the news of the tornados going thru that area, we hope that Dave and his family are o.k.
If anyone has spoken to Dave we sure would like to know how they are doing.

I didn't realize how close to Miami, OK Joplin, MO was until I saw it on the map today on the Weather channel....just a scant 29 miles. If the tornado had hit just a little southwest of Joplin the Newell factory might have been in the crosshairs.

Talked to Pat and he said all was well in Miami. They got lucky though, Joplin got it bad and also south of Miami on Grand lake got it too.

I called Newell Coach this morning. Dave lives in Miami, OK now, and he is o.k.
His daughter lives in Joplin, and she is o.k. as well and so is her home.
Thank God!

Was another long day in Ok with storms. They had first said that a large tornado was headed straight for Edmond, and for a while I thought I may be living out of the Newell because it was headed in line with our neighborhood. Thankfully it missed us by about 10 miles.....those storms are now headed NE towards Miami. Talked to a friend that lives in Vinita about 25 minutes from Newell and he said flooding was the main concern there. Hope everyone stays safe!

Thanks for the update, afrench (Tom or Andrew). Hope you guys stay safe and dry.
Those tornadoes are really unpredictable; at lease with hurricanes we have a few days to evacuate. Also, the weather prognosticators are fairly accurate where their path will be.
We will be keeping all of our Newell friends in our prayers.
