Shakedown cruise
Cindy and I just got back from a week at Fountainebleau State Park which is about 2 hours north. Everything on the coach worked fine (knockin' on wood!). Except for the shower head sliding bar. The piece that slides on the bar and holds the showerhead broke. I looked in town and couldn't find a similar piece so emailed grohe. They responded and said they would ship a replacement piece. Not bad for an 18 year old part!
We had a nice relaxing week and spent some time figuring out how the new lifestyle will work out. We plan to list the house again in a couple weeks and should start heading west sometime in late February.
Happy travels everyone.

Good news (knock on a big piece of wood) that you had an uneventful trip! We've been on a shake down cruise for almost 1 year, and are just chomping at the bit to start changing the view out our front door. Maybe we'll be able to meet up with ya'll at Senator's Wash near Yuma, AZ where Brad is.

We are in Yuma helping my Mother and completing my "sonny does". We were planning on getting out there but I got a call last night and I now have a 7Sportfishing boat out of the water in Wilmington, CA that I need to survey.
Bummer, we have to leave and get back to work tomorrow.

We are having a great time here at Senators Wash with Brad, Karen and Mena. Now if I can figure out how to post a picture from my phone you'll see the great spot Brad scored for us. Right on the lake rim.

It is a terrific view - but it pales in comparison to the kindness, thoughtfullness, generosity and industriousness of Brad and Karen.
Hope to get to meet you Clark.

Brad, I'm curious, do you have to move from your spot to dump? How do you handle that? Is there a dump station in the area?

There is 4 dump stations and 3 places with double faucets for fresh water.
Some folks drive and dump we use a blue boy that I tow with the jeep. We are about 700 ft from the dump station. Also there are 6 dumpsters for your trash. There are 2 bathrooms which have a grey water dumping area only and fresh water. I usually dump once a week which takes 4 trips with a 25 gallon blue boy then I use a 40+ gallon water bag on top of my jeep to get water usually 2 trips. The water gravity feeds to the coach. Some folks have a pump for the water. I guess it depends how one is set up and what you really want to do. If you have a blue boy then you need to have a place to store it.

Good morning Brad.....very cool setup for your fresh water acquisition. Do you use the public restrooms to reduce your input into the black tank?

Clarke
I hardly ever use the public facilities but some do. My routine which is dumping once a week usually leaves me with a day or two extra water as a margin for just in case whatever.
