Splendide Combo not functioning normally

Our Splendide acting up. When we start a wash cycle, it starts filling the tub and water runs and runs but the tub never fills and the control never moves. It has done this a time or two and if I manually advanced the control knob a click or two, it would then function as normal. Now, no matter what I do, the incoming water does not stay in the tub. I always figured the pump had to run to drain the water, but apparently not!!! …the water is going out the drain even when the pump is not running.

Need some advice with this one,

Try unplugging the washer or turning its breaker off to see if the control will reset.
